MementOSIF

Producer’s Thought

This short film was a unique project in collaboration with the Okanagan Society of Independent Filmmakers (OSIF). We created an engaging introduction for their festival, featuring their hosts and other OSIF members as actors to draw in the audience. Following their tradition of spoofing popular movies, we chose to parody Christopher Nolan's "Memento."

Writing and pre-production were particularly challenging due to the complex nature of "Memento." We were continuously amazed by Christopher Nolan's ingenuity. One of the unique production challenges—and benefits—was our small crew. With just three main crew members and three main cast members, we were able to achieve a product we are extremely proud of. This was a unique project for me as I got to produce, direct, and shoot, ensuring a smooth workflow since we didn’t have to wait on decisions to be made. Working with a small, efficient team allowed us to maintain momentum and create a product we are extremely proud of.
